Group Principles & Rules

1. The class is to make music and make people feel better We will try to get along and play as a group. Harmony brings harmony.
2. The class is a safe place We will not bring a bad attitude to class or deliberately upset other people.
3. Everybody has problems We will treat each other with dignity and grace.
4. Everybody makes mistakes We will be patient as we practice and support anybody who is struggling.
5. Everybody makes music We will set up and put away the equipment during class time. It’s a music class not a day centre.
6. Everybody is important We all deserve to be in the class.
7. Everybody deserves respect We will deal with conflict in a mature and responsible way.
8. Everybody makes a valid contribution Music is an expression of emotion and highly individual. There is no absolute right or wrong way to interpret a song.
9. Everybody has bad days We will not make anybody’s bad day worse, or share our own too freely.
10. Everybody has something to learn We will keep an open mind and listen to new ideas with respect.

If anybody is struggling with the above, they should probably go home for a cup of tea and get ready for next week.
