"The
Alman has a proud record of bringing Scottish work to the Coach House
audiences, and they have played an important role in preserving our
heritage. |

"However,
we have to look to the future with eyes open and realistic expectation.
The Coach House is in need of urgent renovation, most particularly,
the roof and tiling. Every heavy rainfall brings an ingress of water through
damaged or rotten wood. This is a listed building which means that we
have to have professional craftswork
replacing the original roofing and roof- tiles, and the cost for all the renovation work is now estimated at between £250,000 and £300,000....an enormous sum of money. The Trustees of the club are currently in detailed negotiation with both Heritage Lottery Funding and Historic Scotland in the hope that we will qualify for the funding that may be available through these sources. Other, smaller funds are being approached in order to try to amass a pot of money sufficient to carry out the necessary changes." Gerry Docherty, Artistic Director |

| "We
ourselves must contribute to the cost and one way of doing this is through
additional performances. Thus in June, we will be giving Neil Simon's
The Odd Couple. Members of the club are also involved in other ventures
like the joint celebration of Robert Burn's birth year in conjunction with Clackmannan Choral Society. |

| If we could have chosen a time to fund-raise or seek support from funding sources, it would not be now in this difficult economic downturn. But we cannot afford to sit back and wait for better times. Given that this is designated the Year of the Homecoming, perhaps we have to focus on our own home and our own heritage, and ask you and our community to join us in the formidable task of making this happen." | ||||||||||

We
intend to raise the required funds by a number of routes, by our own work
and contributions, by sourcing existing funding bodies and by seeking
support from all of our members, patrons and supporters in the local community.
